October 10, 2013 – Charity exhibition named “McCann slobodnim stilom” (“McCann freestyle”) opened last night in “Parobrod”, the cultural center of the municipality of Stari Grad, Belgrade. The event marked the beginning of “McCann Parobrodiranje” (“McCann steamboating”).
All of the works were sold on a fundraising evening, and the money will be invested into the purchase of guide dogs for the “Beli štap” association of the blind and visually impaired. The exhibited pieces which were offered for sale to the visitors are works of the designers employed in “McCann Beograd” creative agency: Marko Prokic, Petar Pavlov, Lidija Milovanovic, Mladen Milasinovic, Natasa Radosavljevic, Nenad Dodic, Marija Milankovic, Jelena Grahovac, Neda Petkovic, Milos Vukovic, Tereza Cenic, Jelena Atanasovski and Ana Banduka.
“The works are based on famous quotes and present art in words and pictures, a typographic game in which every letter becomes a visual element. We are all very glad that our work will help a good cause, the purchase of guide dogs.” said Marko Prokic, one of the artist.
“McCann Parobrodiranje” (“McCann Steamboating”) is a joint venture of “Parobrod”, the cultural center of the municipality of Stari Grad and the “McCann Beograd” creative agency. It is planned as a partnership and a media experiment in promoting advertising as part of the global popular culture, during the course of which the public will be introduced to the basics of contemporary communication, the theory and practice of applied design through a series of programs that will take place in the upcoming period. Beside this, the visitors will be able to take part in innovative educational workshops, enjoy performances, exhibitions and film shows. The exhibition was attended by numerous public and cultural figures among which are: actors Milica Zaric, Aleksandra Jankovic and Bojan Peric, designer Slavimir Stojanovic, Srdjan Saper, the founder of “McCann Beograd” agency and many others.
“McCann slobodnim stilom” will be on display until Sunday, October 13.
