The McCann Beograd “Thank You, Doctors” campaign won the ACT Responsible award, given by an international non-profit organization affiliated with the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI). This year’s exhibition “Great ads for good” opened during the virtual international festival of creativity Cannes Lions, and the awards were given based on the votes of the audience in 5 categories: environment, solidarity, human rights, education, and the COVID19 campaign.
The campaign “Thank you, doctors”, which attracted the attention of the global and local public, as well as the support of the prestigious magazine Nedeljnik in the form of creating special front pages, was awarded this time at the international level.
“In this, as in any other time, the power of creativity lies in its meaning, and meaning as such – is now most needed. The situation in which many positions in the media were vacant, inspired the initiative of gratitude and support for doctors, which was implemented in many countries in Southeast Europe. We have put our knowledge, talent, design, and thought in the service of something bigger and that is why we are very happy. After the special award at the BalCannes festival, NEW NORMAL – EXTRAORDINARY LION FOR EXTRAORDINARY CONDITIONS, again we dedicate this recognition to all doctors and health workers in our region, as an expression of deep gratitude for their efforts “, said Jana Savić Rastovac, Executive Creative Director at McCann Beograd.
Out of over 1,000 campaigns identified this year, the exhibition showcased a collection of 62 campaigns created by 50 agencies from 26 countries for 55 advertisers on a digital platform still accessible on greatadsforgood.org.
Across the region, McCann and UM agencies, I&F Grupa members, as well as their media partners, simultaneously filled the streets of Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Podgorica, Tirana, and Skopje with creative solutions, messages of support, and gratitude to doctors and medical staff, and much-needed optimism.
