“Taxi Drama” at the final of the New York Advertising Festival
McCann Agency “Taxi Drama” campaign entered the finals of one of the most prestigious advertising festivals in New York.
“Taxi Drama” is the only campaign from the former Yugoslav region that was listed in the finals of this renowned festival under Social Media and Viral Marketing category. The campaign was conceived and implemented by McCann Belgrade creative team commissioned by the Yugoslav Dramatic Theatre as part of the repositioning and image refreshing efforts of the eminent theatre.
“This recognition feels really flattering given the scale of international competitors and fact that we were the only agency from the wider region that entered the finals of this prestigious festival – quite likely the most important world-wide creative advertising festival, other than the one in Cannes.” said Vladimir Ćosić, Creative Director of the McCann Belgrade, and added: “Two years ago, as a member of the Jury at this festival, I had a chance to see for myself the level of quality and number of applicants, which, I am confident to say, is – fantastic. “Taxi Drama” campaign, along with the great reception, positive impressions in public and awards at festivals at home, also had great success in the regional and international festival scene. This is supported by such awards like SoMoBorac for Viral Block Buster at the Weekend Media Festival in Rovinje, Golden and Silver Drum at the Golden Drum regional festival in Portorož, as well as the participation in the AdCup festival.
New York festival dedicated to creativity in advertising is one of the oldest and most prestigious festivals in the world, awarding global companies since 1957. This festival presents the summary of the biggest creative accomplishments in advertising. Festival jury consists of the most renowned experts in creative industries in the world. This year’s festival will be held at the end of May, and beside the competition, there will be various events put together: conferences, lectures, panel discussions, exhibitions of participants’ work etc.
